Abstract 【Abstract】Umbilical vein catheterization is an important technique for treating critically ill neonates. It can quickly establish an effective vein access and avoid the pain stimulation caused by repeated peripheral vein punctures. However, excessively deep or shallow placement of the umbilical vein catheter tip, or repeated adjustments due to improper positioning, may lead to serious complications. Therefore, the accurate estimation of the depth of umbilical venous catheterization is particularly important. In recent years, the application of formulas for calculating the depth of umbilical vein catheterization has been a hot topic in clinical research. This study reviews the calculation methods for the depth of neonatal umbilical vein catheterization and the evaluation of their accuracy, aiming to provide reference for clinical practice.
