Abstract 【Abstract】Tic disorder usually onset in childhood and are characterized by motor and vocal tics, some of which may persist into adulthood. Tic disorder can lead to social, physical, or emotional problems, and are often associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, affecting daily life and school performance. The pathogenesis of tic disorder is still not fully understood until now. The relationship between gut microbiota and tic disorder has been widely studied in recent years, as the gut microbiota is one of the factors affecting the pathogenesis of tic disorder. A review of the current state of researches in this area is presented, and the progress of current interventional studies targeting the gut microbiota is summarized.
