Abstract 【Abstract】Microplastics, as a new type of pollutant, are widely found in the environment and enter the human body through multiple pathways. Given the genetic homology between zebrafish and humans, their response to microplastics provides important clues to understand the potential risks to humans. This paper reviews the effects of microplastics on the growth, development and neurobehaviour of zebrafish and their possible mechanisms, and calls for more studies in the future to focus on the specific effects of microplastics on children's development and the mechanisms of their toxicity, with a view to informing the study of the causes of growth retardation and neurodevelopmental disorders in infants, toddlers and children, and to enhance the protection of neonates' and children's neurobehavioural developmental health.
