Method 351 cycles of IVF- ET were analyzed retrospectively and the pregnancy outcomes of different polypronuclear rates were compared. Results The basic situation of the three groups was no statistically significance(P>0.05). There was no statistically difference in fertilization rate between low frequency polypronuclear group and normal fertilization group(P>0.05). Fertilization rate in high frequency polypronuclear group was lower than in normal fertilization group, there was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Good quality embryos rate in low frequency polypronuclear group washigher than in normal fertilization group, there was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). There was no statistically difference in good quality embryos rate between high frequency polypronuclear group and normal fertilization group(P>0.05). Clinical pregnancy rate in low frequency polypronuclear group was rising, but there was no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05), while, Clinical pregnancy rate in high frequency polypronuclear group was decreasing, but there was still not statistically significant between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The percentage of polypronuclear zygotes in IVF cycles may serve as a prognostic indicator of the clinical outcome.
