Abstract 【Abstract】At present, midline catheters (MC) has become a hotspot in clinical vascular access research and hasbeen well used in adult intravenous infusion therapy, but its application in pediatric intravenous infusion therapy is still in the exploratory stage. This study reviews the origin and development of MC in pediatric intravenous infusion therapy, also its placement and maintenance, complications and its application in pediatric special areas, in order to provide references for the development of MC in the field of pediatrics in China
