Abstract: 【Abstract】 Objective To explore the constitute of hospitalized patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) in Qinghai province, and to provide the scientific evidence for prevention and treatment of CHD. Method 4 580 patients with CHD were hospitalized in Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Qinghai Cardio-Cerebro-Vescular Diseases Special Hospital from January 1, 2016 to October 31, 2020.According to the medical records, the constitute and order of CHD's subtypes, as well as the constituteof CHD inpatients in different years, different ages, different altitude and different ethnic groups, wereanalyzed. Statistical methods were performed by χ2, linear-χ2 test and non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis H test. Result The top four subtypes were atrial septal defects (ASD) (65.24%, 2 988/4 580), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) (12.84%, 588/4 580), ventricular septal defect (VSD) (8.84%, 405/4 580) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) (6.59%, 302/4 580) in 4 580 patients with CHD. The constitute ratio of ASD patients increased with the increase of age (χ2=249.607, P<0.001); meanwhile the constitutes of the VSD (χ2=113.350, P<0.001) and PDA (χ2=43.327, P<0.001) patients decreased with the increaseof age. Both the constitute ratio of ASD (χ2=19.301, P<0.001) and that of atrial septal bulge (χ2=5.173,P<0.05) decreased with the increase of altitude, and the constitute ratio of PDA increased with the increase of altitude (χ2=57.794, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in constitute ratios of VSD and PFO in different altitude groups (all P>0.05). The constitute ratio of ASD in Han nationality(68.20%, 1 939/2 904) was higher than that of Tibetan (60.14%, 611/1 016, χ2=21.720, P<0.001) andHui nationality (59.64%, 393/659, χ2=17.648, P<0.001). The constitute ratio of VSD in Hui nationality(11.84%, 78/659) was higher than that of Han nationality (8.27%, 241/2 904, χ2=8.378, P=0.004)and Tibetan (8.46%, 86/1 016, χ2=5.145, P=0.023). The constitute ratio of PDA in Tibetan (19.49%,198/1 016) was higher than that of Han nationality (11.04%, 314/2 904, χ2=46.473, P<0.001) andHui nationality (10.62%, 70/659, χ2=23.379, P<0.001). Conclusion The main subtypes of CHDinpatients in Qinghai province are ASD, PDA, VSD and PFO. Some patients with ASD or PDA arediagnosed in an older age.
