【Abstract】 Objective To detect fetal structural abnormalities in the mid-pregnancy in Lanzhou, Gansu
province, understand its incidence and distribution and provide theoretical data for preventing fetal malformations and reducing birth defects in the region. Methods Four-dimensional color Doppler ultra-standardized technology was used to comprehensively screen 15 135 cases of fetal systems at 20-26 weeks of gestation. Among them, the age <35 years old pregnant women were non-aged group (12 586 cases), and the age ≥ 35 years old pregnant women were senior group (2 549 cases). The occurrence of single and multiple malformations betweenthe two groups was compared. Statistical analysis performed by χ2
test. Results Of the 15 135 pregnant women, 262 were found to have abnormal fetal structure, with a positive rate of 1.73%. 237 cases of singlemalformation, including cardiac malformation (37.13%, 88/237), the rest of the facial deformities (18.14%,43/237), urinary malformations (13.08%, 31/237), skeletal limb deformities (12.24%, 29/237), nervous systemmalformations (6.33%, 15/237), digestive system malformations and chest and abdominal wall malformationsare the same (4.64%, 11/237), rare fetal edema (2.11%, 5/237) and the abdominal cavity occupied (1.69%,4/237). 70 cases of fetal structural abnormalities were detected in senior group, the positive rate (2.75%,70/2 549) was significantly higher than that in non-aged group (1.53%, 192/12 586), the difference wasstatistically significant (χ2 =18.567, P<0.001). 25 cases (9.54%, 25/262) of multiple malformationswere screened. There was no significant difference with multiple malformations in the senior group(11.43%, 8/70) and non-aged group (8.85%, 17/192) (χ2 =0.394,P>0.05). Conclusions The abnormal fetal structure in parts of Gansu province is mainly caused by single malformation, and the highest incidence is heart malformation, facial deformities, urinary malformations, limb malformation of bone. Elderly pregnant women are the main distribution.
