(National Institute for Health and Care
Objective To systematically retrieve, evaluate and integrate the best evidence on non-pharmacological interventions for pain in preterm infants at home and abroad, so as to provide references for clinical practice. Methods An evidence-based question was formulated using the PIPOST model. According
to the "6S" evidence pyramid, searches were conducted on the following databases including BMJ Best
Practice, UpToDate, Guidelines International Network (GIN), National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC),
National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane
Library, etc, as well as Chinese databases including CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, SinoMed, and Chinese Medical Journals Full-text Database, etc. The clinical decisions, guidelines, expert consensuses, recommendations, systematic reviews, evidence summaries, and randomized controlled trials on non-pharmacological interventions of pain in preterm infants were collected. The retrieval period was from October 31, 2016 to October 31, 2025. Results A total of 24 articles were included. Twenty-six best evidence items were summarized from 6 dimensions including safety and effectiveness, appropriate population, staff training, pre-intervention assessment, intervention measures, and health education regarding non-pharmacological interventions for pain in preterm infants. Conclusion Clinical staff can implement interventions based on the best evidence of non-pharmacological interventions for pain in preterm infants, while fully considering the current conditions of thedepartment and the actual situation of individual infants, so as to relieve pain in preterm infants.
