摘要脓毒症（sepsis）是指感染所致的全身炎症反应综合征（systemic inflammatory response syndrome，SIRS）。入侵机体的病原微生物可以是细菌、病毒、支原体、真菌或寄生虫等，其中以细菌最常见。感染刺激机体产生炎症反应，机体内源性免疫炎性因子大量释放而形成“瀑布效应”，超出机体代偿能力时机体出现过度的炎症反应，引起广泛的组织细胞损伤，即SIRS。严重脓毒症还可导致机体免疫功能紊乱，凝血纤溶系统激活和微循环障碍，从而继发脓毒性休克、弥散性血管内凝血（disseminated intravascular coagulation，DIC）和多器官功能障碍综合征（multiple organ dysfunction syndrome，MODS），病死率高，是威胁人类健康的重大疾病。
